Job Description
Hobart Food Machines is part of the ITW Food Equipment Group. Our new product development team is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3 years of experience for our food machines products, full time, in our Troy, Ohio Technology Center.
Job Description
- Assess food machines (e.g. slicer, mixer, meat saw, etc.) design requirements and develop detailed electrical design specifications.
- Drive the development of system architectures which enable subsystem communication, power distribution, and control.
- Manage the development of next generation Food Machines electrical systems by working directly with internal resources and external contractors.
- Facilitate delivery of project deliverables to meet cost, schedule, quality, agency, regulatory and manufacturing environments.
- Effectively communicate development progress and needs to major stakeholders (team lead, project manager, sourcing, quality).
- Support proof of concepts and prototypes throughout the development process using methods such as quick turn PCB’s, development boards, or equivalent.

Qualifications
- 3 years in electromechanical systems and/or digital circuitry (analog is a plus).
- 3 years in new product development utilizing embedded hardware.
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and deliver results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation, and knowledge sharing across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in all computer-related software packages (Microsoft Office, etc.) and additional technologies as required to execute engineering projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent related experience.
- Bonus: project management and/or programming experience (C/C /Python).

- You will work in a team-oriented office and laboratory environment.
- PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection in manufacturing setting.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, or stoop and use hands, arms and walk frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
