The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the Warewash Division at the Stero/Somat business unit in the Lancaster, PA facility. We are seeking creative candidates to support new and existing product development initiatives.
Warewash-Division Description:
The Warewash Business Division is seeking to expand its growth in existing served markets as well as new markets. The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart and Stero brand commercial dishwashers as well as Somat, Hobart, Red Goat, and Master disposer brand food waste processing equipment that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools and universities and retail.
Job Description
As the Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be working on a group project to increase the accuracy of Plant 10 documentation. This will involve using measurement tools to accurately measure received parts and inspect them against available part drawings. This position will also require some use of SolidWorks software to model parts for which accurate drawings do not exist. You will work closely with the local engineering team to make sure that all parts have adequate details for an outside vendor to successfully build each part. You will also work closely with the production staff when necessary to learn about the application of the parts in question to make decisions on the proper design-intent for that part.
- Accurately measure fabricated, welded, stamped, cast, and plastic parts and assemblies.
- Search archives for existing part documentation.
- Evaluate existing part documentation for accuracy and adequacy of detail.
- Create new models and drawings using SolidWorks software.
Qualifications
- Experience with SolidWorks part modeling and drawing preferred.
- Experience with SolidWorks Sheetmetal and Weldment preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of Engineering design-intent and tolerancing
- Ability to accurately use measurement tools
- Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering disciplines (Mechanical preferred)
Understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency using CAD to design parts and assemblies and create specification drawings in a PDM environment; Solidworks strongly preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of Engineering design-intent and tolerancing.
- Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for parts and assemblies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to perform mechanical design calculations
- Ability to perform basic design modifications
