Description/Job Summary
Under the direction of Information Systems Director the Information Systems Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of the IT Team, covering security, software, hardware, network and services. The incumbent develops technology guidelines, best-practice procedures, and supporting documentation to ensure the IT Team delivers quality support. Provides technical assistance during the investigation of technology incidents, and records incident activities. The incumbent interacts with a diverse group of individuals including management, business partners, and other regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Manages the day-to-day responsibilities of the IT Team including performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
- Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
- Helpdesk ticket monitoring / assigning (serves as the final escalation of tickets)
- Manages equipment inventory and purchasing
- Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
- Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
- Provides technical leadership, expertise and direction working with staff for design and implementation of information technology systems.
- Coordinates and documents the secure operation of technology systems; develops best technical practices for securing enterprise wide data and information systems
- Remotely monitors and adjusts systems in response to incidents & emergent threats.
- Assists IUPAT management in developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure that all processes developed are consistent with defined security practices.
- Stays current with technological developments and recommends ways for IUPAT to take advantage of new technology.
- Complete special projects as requested
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of complex programming and scripting Languages.

Required Experience
- Five years' work experience managing information security in a large and complex environment
- Designing and implementing IT systems and network security solutions in a complex environment
- Experience with configuring applications such as PDQ, Zoom, and Druva
- Experience with technologies such as Identity Management (OKTA, DUO, etc)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Operating systems and Google Workspace
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Details
Approximately 80% of the day is spent using the computer. Working environment is the typical office atmosphere. Incumbent is on call to provide support services during off hours. Incumbent is continuously faced with a number of projects considered to be high priority. Project work must continue while assuring that day-to-day operations continue and technical problems are resolved. Technological changes require continuing skill level upgrades via trade journals, Internet-based communication, and course work. Scheduled night and weekend work is required. Forty (40) hours constitutes the regular work week. The working hours will be eight (8) with half an hour lunch break per day. Flex time window applicable (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.). However, flex window hours are subject to change to assigned start time(s) based on departmental needs.
Moderate lifting may be required office.
