Job description:
Under direction of the Heat Treat Supervisor, performs and maintains duties as necessary to support the heat treat system. This position reports to the Heat Treat Supervisor. This position requires good communication skills and leadership ability, as needed to support and/or direct both internal and external customers as related to heat treatment, and quality assurance thereof
Day to day responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heat treat furnace
- Assist in implementation and maintenance of a quality heat treat system which is compliant to IATF16949, Shannon Precision Fastener and customer requirements
- Use of saws and other tools necessary for the preparation of test samples
Required skills and/or technologies with expected years of experience
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge in heat treats systems, quality assurance and related compliance requirements in the Automotive Industry
- Knowledge problem solving techniques and other quality improvement methodologies
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in heat treat operations, or a combination of minimum 5 years formal metallurgical education and heat treat experience
