One of our clients, a full-service systems integrator, offers a wide range of network services and solutions including the design, installation, and support of Hybrid Cloud-based Enterprise Unified Communications, Voice, 5G and NextGen Infrastructure is seeking a Network Specialist for their organization.
Role Overview:
We have an opening for a Network Specialist supporting the medical network on Fort Drum, NY. The Network Specialist ensures that the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Health Agency (DHA) LAN/WAN provides all required services, by supporting the network infrastructure with on-site troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Provides daily operational support for the LAN core and edge switches across the medical network campus
- Resolves technical issues associated with network and routing protocols at all levels of the OSI model utilizing diagnostic and network administration tools
- Provides overall network infrastructure support to routing and switching equipment, firewalls, and associated cabling
- Plans, installs, and supports hardware and software upgrades, and resolves associated technical issues.
Requirements:
- Direct experience with administration of Cybersecurity solutions such as SIEM, configuration change monitoring, user access management, anti-virus, malware detection, firewall, ACLs, network security, IPS, IDS, vulnerability scanning, patch management, encryption solutions, and/or penetration testing.
- Knowledge and skills in cyber security programs, security controls, safeguards, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to assist internal clients in identifying and coordinating new system development and/or enhancements.
- Provide project planning and budgeting information that allows business decision-making for new system implementation and/or upgrades.
- Previous direct involvement with Information Security regulatory or industry compliance requirements such as NERC, SOX, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and/or FISMA.
- Familiarity with IT Governance Standards, guidelines, and best practices such as CIP, NIST, CIS, and/or SANS.
- Excellent documentation practices and the ability to pay great attention to detail.
Minimum Skills:
- Clear understanding of OSI Model Layers 1-3, to include TCP/IP, VTP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and EIA/TIA cable standards
- Must be familiar with firewall and VPN technologies
- Strong network experience maintaining switches and routers, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN problems
- Good knowledge of general security methodologies
- Must have strong oral and written communications skills
- Compliance with DoD Directive 8570.01 “Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management required
- Current CCNA, or Juniper/Brocade equivalent, desired
- DoD and/or medical network experience preferred.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline and 3 years related experience, or;
- Completion of certification program at a technical or vocational school and 8 years related experience
Clearance Level: Security CE certification required
