Job Overview

Responsibilities
Design and Development:
Create website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices.
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with web designers to match visual design intent.
Participate in client meetings to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
Provide regular updates to team members on project status.
Testing and Deployment:
Test the website and identify any technical problems and hitches.
Deploy applications in a cross-platform, cross-browser environment.
Document project build and maintenance.
Maintenance and Optimization:
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
Maintain software workflow management with a project management tool (like GitHub).
Stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
Security:
Ensure website security by implementing proper SSL certificates and complying with ISO/PCI requirements.
Safeguard website by setting up firewalls and login pages.
Required Skills
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, or DurandalJS.
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
Good knowledge of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools; ability to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt and Gulp.js.
Excellent understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven working experience in web programming.
Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS.
A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
Work Environment
