Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing enriching experiences for our residents in a senior care setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and creating engaging activities to enhance their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of activities and events for residents
- Engage with residents on a personal level to understand their preferences and needs
- Support residents in participating in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with the activities director and care team to ensure activities align with residents' care plans
- Maintain documentation related to resident participation and feedback
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents during activities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a nursing home, assisted living facility, or senior care setting is preferred
- Knowledge of aging issues, caregiving principles, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and plan events effectively
- Background in social work, event planning, or related field is a plus
- Compassionate attitude towards seniors and a genuine interest in enhancing their quality of life
