Role: Shipping Supervisor

Location: Sioux City, IA

Duration: Direct Hire (Full Time)

Shift: 3rd Shift (10pm - 6:30am)

Summary: The Shipping Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership and management for all Shipping/Material Handling/Freezer employees at the Client Processing Plant in Sioux City. Ensure production outputs are met, adhere to company policies and procedures, and responsible for employee performance and retention. Responsible for assuring shipping schedules are met by organizing and coordinating trailer loads. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Will train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward & discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems. Must be flexible with work schedule.

Provide the day-to-day leadership and management for Production employees in department.

Assigns, directs and monitors work performed by Shipping/Material Handling/Freezer employees.

Responsible for employee's performance appraisal, development, and discipline. Must be able to address and resolve issues.

Ensure all new hires and existing employees perform their jobs safely, correctly and with the highest level of quality and ability.

Responsible for assuring shipping schedules are met by organizing and coordinating trailer loads.

Communicate daily expectations, direction and instructions and provide ongoing feedback to employees. Communicate any changes in policies or procedures as needed.

Develop collaborative working relationship with all departments in the Plant.

Complete all reports accurately and timely.

Adhere to all safety procedures, accident investigation analysis, conduct departmental safety meetings, and utilize equipment provided for employee protection.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university: or minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Utilize AS400 system or similar software to manage inventory and track shipments
- Manage e-commerce order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping
- Supervise a team of shipping associates, providing guidance and training as needed
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations for safe materials handling and heavy lifting
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including experience with 3PL operations
- Proficiency in using AS400 or similar inventory management software
- Familiarity with e-commerce order fulfillment systems and processes
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to materials handling
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues is a plus
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing
