ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Food safety and quality are the highest priorities for our company. The Quality Assurance Technician will fill an essential role of monitoring our quality programs. The Quality Assurance Technician is a team player who supports production in all production areas with an emphasis in product quality and provides support to the Quality Control Supervisor. Performs daily quality checks and inspections to ensure the integrity of each product we produce, so that our customers can always enjoy our product with full confidence and satisfaction and meet USDA guidelines and standards.
- Monitor and execute Good Manufacturing Practices in all production areas.
- Responsible for sampling, storage, and lab preparation of shelf-life samples.
- Obtain samples of product for quality assurance purposes when requested by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
- Performs pre-operational inspection of the facility.
- Perform hourly net weight checks of product in accordance with the net weight program.
- Maintain SSOPs for facility.
- Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance to company standards and policies, and effectively communicating when there are deviations from standards or processes.
- Participate in preparation for Safe Quality Food audits and 3rd party audits.
- Maintain ongoing company compliance with all applicable regulations and 3rd party audit requirements.
- Daily verification of inventory of glass and hard plastics in the Smokehouse production areas.
- Employee assists in filing and organization of quality assurance paperwork.
- Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance to company standards and policies, and effectively communicating when there are deviations from standards or processes.
- Assist in training employees on food safety, company processes, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Proficient at performing daily quality checks.
- Product Audit inspections to ensure package integrity.
- Performs daily calibration of employee thermometers and scales.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
CAPABILITY OF PERFORMING BASIC MATH AND LITERACY. CONVERSANT IN ENGLISH. BILINGUAL IS PREFERRED BUT NOT MANDATORY. ABILITY TO SPEAK TO GROUPS AND CONDUCT GROUP TRAININGS. ABILITY TO WRITE DOCUMENTATION IN ENGLISH.
