Position Summary
The Housing Program Manager develops positive relationships with landlords and property owners, property management companies and apartment complexes for smooth transitions in Housing. They oversee housing staff and regularly monitor the effectiveness of the program's delivery of services to individuals who need housing. The Program Manager works closely with all managers from departments of J Bar J Youth Services to streamline our clients' housing readiness and access to housing through a centralized referral system, Coordinated Entry. They will provide oversite over any leased properties occupied by youth. They are responsible for creating bridges to community resources for staff who then refer youth. Coordinate resources, budget and funding, documentation and statistical input.
This position is a full time, 40 hours per week position with varying hours; includes days, nights, swing, weekends and holidays with a variable schedule. This position includes on call responsibilities.
Duties
Create a positive team atmosphere providing quality service to clients, staff and volunteers through active listening, positive problem solving, and timely responses
Responsible for ensuring case management activities correlate with established goals and objectives
Requires staff completion of specialized training that meets funding requirements, including but not limited to crisis intervention and de-escalation, human trafficking, suicide prevention, harm-reduction, housing focused case management, trauma-informed care, etc
Develop and coordinate life skills classes such as budgeting, household activities, job readiness, anger management, social skills, and study habits
Provide oversite of the on-going support for runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth. Ensuring that staff are developing and monitoring client goals, advocacy, referrals to community resources, and outreach in adherence with all policies.
Ensure staff are up to date on local resources and are referring youth to appropriate community resources and provide follow-up monitoring and support
Ensure staff provide or connect youth to basic need supports (food, hygiene products, clothes), counseling, academic support, jobs assistance, case management, and enrichment activities
Ensure staff maintain current documentation and records as required for program evaluation and reporting purposes and ensure all files and reports are accurate and meet grant standards
Maintain current documentation and records related to staff whom you supervise, including doing and documenting 1:1 monthly check-in and other related responsibilities
Collaborate with other staff, agencies, businesses and volunteers to ensure that agencies’ programs coordinate to provide the best possible services for youth and wise use of resources
Expand agency network and resource development opportunities through community contacts, training, promoting agency programs and involvement in cooperative activities with other agencies, groups, or organizations
Ensure staff are navigating resources (and service matching) / referrals (warm hand offs) with youth served
Follow through on complete documentation and program reporting, as well as policies and procedures to ensure compliance with housing laws and regulations
Responsible for regular and systematic review of program documentation, with verification all contractual, licensing and grant requirements are being met
Develop and monitor appropriate documentation of Federal requirements, along with state and county and any additional grant reporting requirements
Keep current and accessible all emergency procedures, policies and contact information
Emergency contact for all CYFC Programs, VPO, and CEO informed as needed/required
Complete weekly staff schedule according to Federal staff to youth ratios
Attend staff meetings and other pertinent meetings as scheduled
Ensure that buildings and grounds occupied by tenants are well-maintained through regular trauma informed inspections
Handle significant tenant issues and property inspections, complaints or concerns of landlords or owners, mediate disputes and enforce lease agreements to maintain positive relationships
Assist with tours, public speaking, marketing and alumni outreach efforts as need
Represent J Bar J Youth Services on regional planning groups and community presentations
Responsible for coordinating and assisting with CYFC’s portion of the annual horse show fund raiser
Other duties as assigned by the Program Director of Runaway and Homeless Youth Services, Program Director’s, Vice President of Operations and CEO
