Currently, we are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our IT group. Using a variety of tools and experience, the IT Support Specialist supports the company’s users and all corporate IT devices by troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to hardware or software failure. They are also responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, optimization, and research of IT related software and equipment as delegated by IT Group Management.
In this role you will:
- Provide end-user desktop support on day-to-day basis via the ticketing system
- Install and perform minor-major repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
- Provide Q/A on computer/software equipment
- Provide mobile support for iPhone, iPad, and Blackberry devices. Perform repairs and testing of mobile equipment
- Must be able to travel to field offices to provide support or conduct installation/upgrades
- Assist document control department in printing/plotting as needed.
- Perform maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting on printers/plotters.
A successful candidate will have:
- 1-2 years’ experience in an IT support role required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in technology or related field. Technical certifications such as A , Network , etc. a plus
- Must have strong Windows OS troubleshooting skill; should also be familiar with Mac OS environment. Should be able to diagnose BSOD issues, virus infections, registry edits, hardware failures, etc.
- Must be familiar with basic networking concepts (firewall, switches, routers, etc.) and network topology.
- Must be familiar with basic Systems Administration concepts (security, Active Directory, Group Policy, storage)
- Be able to work independently on tasks; prioritize and complete tasks in timely fashion.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Must be able to teach and communicate with users of limited/no technical skills.
Desired/Additional Skills
- Familiarity with virtualized environments and concepts
- Advanced programming skills and web development
- Mobile application development esp. iPhone/iPad applications
- Experience building high performance & stable computers/workstations
- Any exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software/concepts a major plus
Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
