Job Posting for Wildlife Land Manager at J.C. Wilkie Construction, LLC
Seeking a Wildlife Land Manager to oversee game land, manage wildlife, and forestry operations.
Job Description:
General knowledge of the lifecycles and movements of wildlife
Maximize the ecological balance of wildlife in the most cost-effective manner
Have a broad scope of knowledge which includes ecology, meteorology, hydrology, husbandry, and related fields like predictive modeling
Keep track of projections based on changing ecological environments
Track total cost of maintenance and variations to budget
Oversee all aspects of wildlife cycles, including but not limited to mating, birthing, and aging
Implement quality of life standards
Implement and manage food and safety policies and practices with as little intervention as possible
Knowledgeable of planting and managing food plots for specific wildlife and seasons
Provide land management including planning, management, monitoring, and maintenance activities
Oversee, implement, and coordinate land management activities (with particular emphasis on vegetation and grazing management) and infrastructure maintenance (e.g., repairing fences, posting signs, or irrigation systems)
Identify, repair (if possible) and report any land management or maintenance needs on properties
Must be able to operate a farm tractor and light construction equipment
Qualifications:
Proven self-starter, able to work efficiently with minimal supervision to meet habitat management goals
Experience in land management and resource conservation
Role requires spending considerable time outdoors which will include inclement or hot weather conditions
The work occurs primarily during the day, but there may be occasional work on weekends or evenings
Some remote sites require overnight stays in local hotels
Comfortable working with off-road vehicles, trailers, and land management tools and equipment
Must adhere to standard field safety protocols
The job requires you to have a valid driver's license and good driving record in order to drive a company vehicle
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
