Summary
The Electronics Assembler is one of the primary points of contact for Engineering teams to have prototype boards built, brought up, diagnosed, tested, and repaired. The candidate will work alone, and as part of a group, to accomplish the tasks assigned by the Electronics Lab Supervisor.
Duties Responsibilities
- Builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies developmental electronic circuit boards, applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics.
- Diagnose and repair (power, traffic, network issues) to a component level on electronic circuit board assemblies.
- Assembles experimental circuitry or complete prototype model according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
- Exhibit proficiency in the use of electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Understand and utilize assembly documentation such as but not limited to the following: Schematics, BOMs, EC documents, Visuals, Debug, Testing tools, and procedures.
- Assist Engineering and Customer Service departments in an ongoing data evaluation program for improving the circuit design and warranty claims due to circuit board failures.
- Work as a team member to achieve the Engineering department’s process yield goals.
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

Requirements
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in component-level troubleshooting.
- Proficient in the use of various measurement devices and test equipment including but not limited to; Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, etc.
- Clear understanding of basic electronic concepts.
- Knowledgeable in the use of mechanical hand tools and soldering equipment.
- Proficient in basic computer programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Problem Solving Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills- Basic personal computer skills
Educational/Experience Requirements
Preferred Associate degree in Electronic Assembler or a two-year technical degree/certificate in a related discipline
Required High school diploma and 2-5 years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination.
Working Hours
8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday, with one hour lunch
Working Conditions/Physical Demands of the Position
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those typical in an electronics lab/productive environment. Tool use is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, including the sounds of forklifts, tools, and machinery. Work is generally performed near moving mechanical parts. In some instances personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in this work environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms all in a repetitive manner. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work performed will be working with mostly DC and minimal AC.
