Position Summary: 

The CAD Drafter/Engineering Tech is responsible for the creation of 3D modeling and drawings, building physical models/prototypes, performing life cycle test sets, supporting all of the diverse businesses, from height Adjustable Tables to Sunlight Management to Adjustable Beds and others as needed. This position will require prompt response and follow up to internal customer requests. Ability to understand product life-cycle and make changes over time as it moves through its succession of stages. The CAD Drafter/Engineering Tech is expected to be flexible, able to work independently, and set a great example with his/her attitude and work ethic. 


Essential Responsibilities:

1. Edits and creates models, drawing, work instructions, BOMS and engineering specifications. 

2. Assemble and perform tests on products, following directions from the Engineering and Quality Engineers

3. Provides feedback to development teams necessary to obtain commonization. 

o Issues necessary technical instructions and specifications

4. Create reports detailing projects status, findings, etc. to create retrievable, relevant reports.

5. Support/Interface with various cross functional groups to provide problem solving solutions. 

6. Facilitate communication between engineering/quality and the factory as well as sales. 

7. Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary based on findings.

8. Have solid people skills, be able to work independently, and maintain a positive and professional work environment.

9. Identify and implement improvements. Strive to delight your internal customers. 

Requirements

Education & Experience: 

1. Proficient in SolidWorks

2. 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent

3. Associates degree in CAD/engineering; preferred 


Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Solid interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong focus on internal customer satisfaction

2. Strong computer skills including, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office. A working knowledge of MS Access would be beneficial, but not required

3. Ability to manage multiple customers and multiple priorities
