J2 Company is hiring a Multi-Craft Electrical Technician with growth opportunities. This individual will have knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems and issues. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated manufacturing systems is preferred.
The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and hydraulic equipment while constantly demonstrating safe work practices. This role will create value by performing preventative and corrective maintenance across the Southeast as well as in Jackson, TN and surrounding areas. Must be willing to travel weekly and able to self-perform as well as oversee and encourage apprentices.
What Your Role Will Be
Responsibilities:
- Will be able to provide personal and team leadership to determine estimated time needed and extent of repairs needed. Optimize planning, scheduling and completion of electrical services & project execution to improve operational results.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance
- Maintain material and supply inventory
- Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary
- Troubleshooting and repairing electric/electronic equipment, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- Analyze and troubleshooting up to 480 VAC and common low voltage DC circuits.
- Participate in Preventative Maintenance (PM) program while working in a self-directed manner with little supervision.
- Electrical Controls Technician provides leadership/direction to crew members to optimize planning, scheduling and completion of electrical activities & project execution to improve operations reliability results.
- Excellent communication skills, including leading effective meetings, training & conveying proper skills/ techniques to others, & effective reinforcement of appropriate work/quality standards with on topics such as safety, quality and housekeeping
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Minimum of two - three (2-3) years of electrical / industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with single and three phase electrical repairs and troubleshooting; up to 480 volts
- Experience reading technical diagrams and schematics
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance routines and practices
- Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chain, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors is desired, but not required.
- Willing and able to travel up to 80% of the time
- Able to wear a respirator and other PPE as required; must pass pulmonary function test.
- Corrective vision.
- Programming/troubleshooting knowledge of Allen Bradley programmable controllers.
- Willing and able to climb ladders and stairs to multiple levels
What Will Put You Ahead
- Two (2) year technical degree in electrical field
- Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps
- Experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system
- Experience operating a motorized forklift, LUL and/or clamp truck
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience with PLC controls
