SUMMARY
The primary responsibility (70%-time allocation) will be to perform the duties outlined as the Manufacturing Trainer – Milling. The secondary duties will be to operate in assigned functional area (CNC Machining, Finishing and/or secondary operations). The Manufacturing Trainer will facilitate direct labor classroom training, hands on training and operator certification requirements for new hires and internal cross-training moves. They will manage all training documentation administration while working closely with Training, Inspection, and production management. The trainer’s duties will be utilized across departmental boundaries and the functional area they support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Set the standard for training performance and execution, effective communication, promoting positive morale and supporting employee involvement
- Maintain certification in a minimum of 4 areas within the Milling area and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the operator certification requirements/process
- Provide hands-on training for all associates in the milling area for the facility, supporting cross-training plans and new hire assimilate
- Partner with functional teams/areas to help identify voids in training and provide recommendations on training solutions
- Act as the SME for SAP, Neptune and password reset functions (Jabil & Customer)
- Facilitate classroom and one on one training for system application and implementation
- Create a cross-training matrix for functional area. Maintain an accurate matrix to help with staffing assignments to provide quick customer support
- Coordinate onboarding process with production management for new hires
- Encourage open communication and exchange of information within all operations areas, and between the various support groups.
- Partner with the training department to develop and implement world class training programs in the manufacturing environment
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· High School/GED or higher education preferred
· 5+ years experience as a machinist; familiarity with CNC, Lathe and manual machines a plus
· Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
