Description
Reporting to Table Games Administrator, the Table Games Instructor is responsible for facilitating training programs, making presentation and coordinating company compliance initiatives in the development of JACK Cleveland team members. Responsible for the planning, coordination, communication, and execution of Table Games training and development programs in all Table Gamers Operations areas, which support department/company business strategies and objectives. This includes, but is not limited to the review, edit, modification, creation and communication of all procedures, manuals and internal controls relating to the Table Games operation as designated by the Table Games Leaders.
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, facilitating, scheduling, coordinating and teaching all (designated) Table Games specific training for all dealers and coaches.
- Responsible for the creation, implementation, and maintenance of table games training programs, schedules, and evaluation methods.
- Provide ongoing and specific or periodic review, interpretation, editing, modification and creation of all table games procedures, manuals and internal controls as designated by the Table games Leaders.
- Responsible for training dealer and supervisor candidates on any and all games assigned during Table Games Service Academies, including candidates with no prior gaming history.
- Ensure that procedures and policies are effectively communicated to Table Games employees as needed.
- Ensures that department internal control standards, procedures and work manuals are properly distributed and posted to all relevant employees.
- Monitors industry trends and innovations including human resource issues and recommends policy and procedural changes as well as relevant training.
- Provide follow-up to all training to assist the Table Games Team in assuring quality implementation of instruction, policy and procedure.
- When required, as needed, be prepared to “stand floor”; provide supervision to designated pit area and take responsibility for table games area on an assigned shift; Interact with customers, model interactive skills, make comp decisions, remain alert to gaming activities, observe dealer staff, coach guide and instruct as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to continuously perform repetitive hand, arm, and shoulder motion.
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
- Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
- Proficient in 4 cores games; Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, Mini/Midi Bac/Pai Gow and Carnival games.
- Extensive knowledge of casino rules, regulations and procedures pertinent to pit operation is required.
- Must possess excellent co-worker relations and leadership ability.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the use of computer programs, specifically Word and Excel.
- Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Must not have an active Written Warning.
- Must be prepared to present a “Teach Back” for the Table Games Leaders.
- Must be 21 years of age.
License Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Gaming Occupational License within the State of Ohio
