Lead Data Scientist

Lead Data Scientist – Designs, develops and implements scalable, sustainable analytic capabilities, leveraging advanced statistical modeling and machine learning to unlock value and provide efficiencies across business units; Identifies, generates, and selects features from various structured and unstructured data sets. Identifies approaches to model high dimensional sparse data that may require the use of imputation methods; Partners with product and technology teams to make sure that relevant data is captured; collaborates with data engineering teams to get appropriate datasets built in a format that streamlines analysis and enables automation and reporting; works with AI engineering teams to implement developed solutions; Leverages supervised and unsupervised AI/ML methods to create descriptive, predictive and prescriptive models; Creates data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data for analysis and model development purposes. Prepares and analyzes data to develop recommendations and strategies that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs; Works in a high performance computing cloud environment to analyze complex data from a variety of sources using a diverse set of tools and techniques; Uses data visualization techniques to effectively convey insights and support business decisions across Company; Monitors and evaluates the impact and effectiveness of predictive models or analytics tools in production; Assists in the creation of alignment and the development of project requirements; Consults with business stakeholders on appropriate experimental design to satisfy requirements and ensure new features/initiatives are tested rigorously; Leads complex analytical projects and initiatives; Provides innovative recommendations to make an impact at Jackson using data science and AI/ML.

Requirements For The Position
- Bachelor’s Degree in commerce; Business Administration; Insurance; or related field or foreign degree equivalent
- 8 years progressive, responsible work experience in Lead Data Scientist, Senior Business Analyst, Business Data Analyst, Senior Data Scientist, Research Scientist, Artificial Intelligence Engineer, or combination.
- 8 years work experience must include work with BI tools, SQL, Catastrophic modeling and Data Analysis, and insurance and reinsurance.
- Must report to the office for a minimum of 3 days to a maximum of 5 days during the work week
