What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Counselor position at Jackson Pierce Public Affairs, Inc?
GENERAL FUNCTION: Screens and recruits student employees for the Job Corps Program by making and maintaining a network of referral sources such as student employees already in the Job Corps Program, the Community Advisory Board, churches, welfare agencies (WIN, TANF, Food Stamps, Income Maintenance, etc.); the Employment Service, courts, schools, and political leaders or organizations; ads, radio, public interest programs on local T.V.; giving speeches at neighborhood organizations, churches, unions, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities:
- Must be able to use a computer for scanning, entering information, and communicating with others
- Ability to work remotely
- Must have a car available during business hours as driving is a regular function of this position
- Have a valid driving license, clear driving record, and ability to drive for work purposes.
- Have a cell phone and internet access (we provide a communication stipend)
Education Requirement:
A Bachelor’s Degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications or closely related field;
or
An Associate’s Degree in in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications or closely related field and 2 years’ related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps enrollment or successful enrollment in other youth development programs.
Licenses or Certificates: A valid Regular Driver License is required. A Clear, unrestricted driving record is also required for this position.
This position is a hybrid position: work is remote with the exception of certain requirements for in-person meetings as necessary to perform the job. The candidate for this position must be located within 25 miles of Moses Lake, WA.
