Description
The day porter will be responsible for daytime custodial services and assisting with facilities maintenance. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a 12-month work schedule. Salary will be set annually on a performance-based schedule. The day porter will report to the School Operations Manager. Interested in working in an outstanding school environment, operating around the school schedule, being a good role model for scholars, and being a member of an efficient facilities team. Ensure the school is clean and sanitary by:
Daily/Weekly:
· Cleaning entrances, restrooms, staff areas, stairs, handrails, water fountains, and play areas.
· Clean windows and glass doors.
· Take trash to dumpster after breakfast and lunch.
· Replenish paper products, soap, and sanitizer dispensers.
As needed:
· Clean spills, accidents, and graffiti
· Put up and take down chairs.
· Ensure play fields and parking lots are free of debris
· Distribute supplies to stock rooms as necessary
· Any other duties as assigned.
Assist with facilities maintenance (as required)
· Minor plumbing, touch up painting, grounds maintenance, and other facilities repairs.
· Assisting with grounds maintenance, sports field painting, maintaining outside sports equipment, and fence repair.
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) exam required.
· Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
· Skill in following verbal and written instructions.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others.
