Position Summary
The Jacksonville University College of Law is a newly founded Juris Doctor program in the thriving legal community of Jacksonville, Florida. The College, as the newest addition to this community, is committed to building a strong, educated legal workforce to help shape a bolder future for Jacksonville, and beyond. The College is scheduled to open Fall 2022 and will provide a comprehensive legal education centered on experiential learning. As a new College, the Assistant Dean will have significant responsibilities in establishing processes and supporting infrastructure for the essential job duties. The Assistant Dean will be responsible for developing the programming, strategies, and processes for academic success and advising, career services, and experiential learning. In addition, the Assistant Dean or Director will serve on the accreditation team and other in-service groups/committees as may be assigned by the Dean. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with experience in legal higher education.
The Interim Assistant of Student Development and Practice for the Jacksonville University College of Law is responsible for the development, implementation and management of: (1) academic success program development and advising, (2) career services and professional development, (3) College of Law Pro Bono Program, (4) College of Law Orientation Program, and (5) experiential learning curriculum and program development.
