Jacobs Entertainment is currently in search of a “Mixologist” for the All-New J Resort. The J Resort is a full-service hotel-casino with over 500 rooms and wide variety of Slots and Table Games. Due to temporary construction interruption, this position will have a base pay of $20.00 per hour plus tips until 6/21/23. After 6/21/23 the wage will revert to $14.00 per hour plus tips moving forward.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- The Mixologist is responsible for preparing food and drink orders serving beverages and meals to patrons as regulated by state and federal age requirements and coordinating lounge/bar activities
- May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours
- Greet all bar guests, making food and beverage suggestions while creating connections and engaging
- Accurately and consistently record all beverage sales
- Prepare all beverages for guests and Servers in a timely manner while upholding consistency and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar counter, back bar, work areas, shelving, and storage areas
- Perform all opening, side work, and closing duties
- Be knowledgeable of all menu items, ingredients, preparation methods
- Assists with the arrangement of bottles and glasses, garnish, and bar top equipment to create and maintain attractive displays in accordance operational standards
- Presents menu answers questions and takes food and beverage orders from guests and/or serving staff
- Checks identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol and follows the Nevada Alcohol Awareness Procedures and The J Resort Company Policies
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations; includes the ability to respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance
- Enter all comped transactions into the computer for proper departmental charging
- Computes bill and accepts payment, tracks, and balances sales receipts
- Process all payments and complete end of shift paperwork and Ensures tips are reported properly for tax processing
- Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
- Attempts to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as discontinuing alcohol service and notifying management of potential problems
- Ensures that all temp logs, waste log, comp/void logs are maintained daily
- Inventories liquor food supplies and equipment and orders or requisitions supplies to pars as necessary
- Receives dates and examines foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications
- Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
- Participate in the development and creation of drink recipes and beverage experiences
Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
- Identification that establishes identity
- Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States
