Jacobs Nuclear Projects and Consulting is a Tier 1 service provider of the U.S. Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Jacobs NPC is a leading Architectural and Engineering design frim focused on the nuclear and high hazard sector. Our mission it to design and support facilities critical to our nation's national security, environmental stewardship, energy independence, and research and development missions.
We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join our team. This position will be responsible for the development of Architectural Building Information models and drawings under the lead project Architect to be completed utilizing the latest tools including REVIT.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop designs under the guidance of the Project Architect
- Develop Architectural Building Information models (BIM)
- Develop project 3D renders and videos
- Develop 2D drawings
- Develop specifications
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Accredited Architectural degree (0 years post graduate experience with minimum 2 internship sessions) OR minimum 5 years of experience with a 2 year drafting degree OR minimum 10 years of experience with no drafting degree or certification
- Expert user in REVIT and AutoCAD
- Ability to use MicroStation
- Must be able to work in the Oak Ridge, TN office
- Must have sole US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DOE/Nuclear projects
- Q clearance
- Experience with SmartPlant 3D
- Experience with drafting structural designs
- Experience with drafting MEP designs
- Ability to travel to client sites if required (<5% of time)
Essential Requirements:
Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May transport light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks, and laptops.
Work Environment: Work to be completed in Oak Ridge, TN. Work may be completed in secure facilities as required.
Critically in Attendance: Must be able to work a 40-hour week overlapping the core work hours of 09:00 to 16:00 Monday through Thursday in the office in Oak Ridge, TN. Occasional flexibility is available as needed.
Equipment and Machines: Standard office equipment and machines, personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies, personal computer and required CAD software.
Other Essential Functions:
- Must have ability to secure and maintain a security clearance as required
- Must pass drug testing
- Must be able to read and write effectively in English
- Must embrace Beyond Zero/Safety ethics of Jacobs to include adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers' safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely
- Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional with supervisor, customers, clients, co-workers, and organization
