The Construction Escort works to maintain an appropriate security level to maintain continuity of government operations during adjacent construction operations. This individual's services are pertinent to the performance of construction work taking place during normal, non-business hours or weekends.
Tasks include:
- Maintaining logs, reports, and files of incidents and occurrences encountered during the work shift.
- Turn off unnecessary lights, close and secure open windows, doors, gates, and other facility access points.
- Monitor construction worker activity and facilitate space access needs as necessary.
- Coordinate coverage and provide surveillance of dispersed work crews.
- Brief new construction personnel on the essential security requirements governing the work area and building.
- Receive updated staff rosters and maintain record listing(s) construction personnel accessing the site.
- Document and report security infractions as appropriate.
- Maintain responsibility for ensuring that the contractor has secured the work site after each shift.
- High School education or GED.
- Ability to pass a Tier 1 Homeland Security Presidental Directive 12 (HSPD-12) background check.
- Basic understanding of industrial or construction work practices as related to Health, Safety and Environment.
