At Jacobs, we don’t just lead the development and implementation of environmental compliance, we live it. As a Junior Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Environmental Scientist, you will work primarily in the field or field office with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of experienced engineers and consulting staff. Working closely with senior staff, you’ll support the delivery of environmental projects by preparing reports and project documents, preparing calculations, maintaining strong relationships with internal staff and clients, evaluating, and reviewing data and ensuring the environmental strategy is being followed.

You’ll have the opportunity to help create a more sustainable world by ensuring environmental compliance, environmental management and health and safety while working on diverse projects primarily at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL. It is a complex site with multiple on-going groundwater and soil characterization and remediation projects. In this role, you’ll be mentored by experienced engineers and geologists who will help you start your environmental consulting career at a place like no other with a company that is invested in you and the environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in either Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science.

• Physically capable of conducting field work in remote locations in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to oversee tasks performed by subcontractors. 

• Strong attention to detail when making technical evaluations and reviewing reports. 

• Knowledge of environmental compliance, environmental consulting, and client interaction.

• Basic knowledge of federal and state/provincial environmental regulations.

•Business acumen that is applied in all aspects of project execution.

 • Currently living in the Huntsville, AL area within the United States.

 • The first 12 to 18 months of work will be primarily at NASA MSFC in Huntsville, AL, but travel up to 25% - 50% may be required.

• Must be able to pass an MVR background check due to requirement for driving for this role.

 •USA Citizenship is required for this position.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have\:

• 40-hr HAZWOPER certification OR the ability to obtain and maintain

• 2-5 years of experience within environmental consulting including field experience, including ground water sampling.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to take detailed field notes and complete daily reports.
