We are looking for a dedicated Field Surveyor to grow with our collaborative team and work on a wide variety of infrastructure projects. Based in your own home town in Pacific Northwest, we will ask you work on a field crew to perform surveys using GNSS and Robotic Total Station equipment with potential to travel to sites across the US and Globe.
We'll Also Ask you to:
- Work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topography, laser scanning and other tasks on a one or two-person crew
- Collect survey data using GNSS receivers, scanners, total stations, levels, and survey controllers
- Produce clear and concise field notes and quality field data for office processing
- Communicate with supervisor and office staff about important aspects of the project
- Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and varied terrain.
- Perform some office duties, including data download and reduction, field note reduction, calculations, processing, and quality control reviews
- Collaborate with a multi-discipline team
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols
- Participate in department and field crew training.
- Represent Jacobs in the field with a professional image

The base salary range for this position is $34.38 to $60.14. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 years’ experience as an Instrument Operator, Party Chief or Survey Technician
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in applicable field
- Valid driver’s license
- Good social and communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Ability to pass drug screen and background checks
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience with Trimble equipment and software, preferred but not required
- Experience with WSDOT, ODOT, and/or ITD coding, preferred but not required.
- CST, LSI or PLS certification preferred but not required
