Jacobs is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our team in Bellevue, WA, who will  be involved in a wide variety of geospatial projects covering multiple disciplines from water, stormwater, transportation planning, environmental permitting, and more. The successful candidate for this position will play a key role in the creation, collection, processing, and analysis of geospatial data in support of projects under the guidance of senior staff.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and demonstrated skill in critical thinking, judgment, and data analysis, including demonstrated knowledge in the application of geospatial technologies, and specifically Esri ArcGIS Pro/Desktop, ArcGIS Online and Enterprise platforms.  The ability to support project teams with database design, figure mapping production, mobile data collection, and online web application development is required.   

As a GIS Analyst, you will plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of best practices, techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will demonstrate solid data management/analytical skills, cartographic expertise, and great attention to detail, execute GIS data conversion/editing, GIS map production, spatial database management, and spatial analysis/reporting tasks, assist with standard GIS analysis, mapping techniques, and data collection tools, support experienced team members in larger GIS projects, gaining exposure to advanced techniques and methodologies, assist in documenting workflows and procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency, and actively seeks feedback and participates in training sessions to enhance GIS knowledge and skills. The base salary range for this position is $82,000 to $143,400. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. 

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited College or University in Geography, Planning, Natural Resources, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years of prior experience as a GIS professional in a work environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong analysis & technical problem solving, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of GIS principals
  • Experience using Suite of ESRI products including but not limited to: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Survey 123, Operations Dashboards, Microsoft Suite

Ideally, You’ll Also have:

  • Environmental and Transportation experience desirable
  • Experience using InDesign, Adobe Illustrator 
  • Basic understanding and or use of SQL Server Management Studio, SQL code language
  • Understand the general principles of database schema design and how different database elements work together
  • Experience building data visualization tools and dashboards using platforms like PowerBI or Tableau
  • Experience using FME to build and manage automated data or reporting workflows
  • Knowledge of Python, Javascript, R, or other programming language
  • General familiarity with core project management competencies (ex: define scope, set timelines)
