Job Summary:

Leads the Jacobs Software Engineering Center’s Quality Assurance program. Partners with software development teams to ensure delivery of high quality/value products to our customers and users.  Works collaboratively with teams to ensure alignment with:

·       JSEC’s Organizational Set of Standard Processes (OSSP)

·       The CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) Model (currently appraised at Level 3)

·       Other contractually required standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work scope may include any/all of the following duties:

·       Work closely with Dev Teams to ensure JSEC programs align with and implement defined process and with regulatory standards required by individual contracts.

·       Participate in program and team activities, looking for consistent application of our processes, best practices, quality concerns, or compliance issues.

  • Ensure resulting observations are recorded and documented.
  • Participate in process development and process improvement activities.
  • Report and track quality metrics, looking for opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead improvement efforts by participating in CAR, DAR, Risk, and other improvement activities.

Qualifications

Education Desired/Required\:

High School Diploma and at least 15 (15) years related experience, or
Associate degree and at least twelve (12) years of related experience, or
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and at least ten (10) years of related experience.

 

Knowledge, skills & abilities\:

 

  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodology.
  • Understanding of the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) Model for Software Development, version 2.0 or greater.
  • Ability to assess team performance against documented process and standards and to report results and work with teams to improve.
  • Experience in software process development and improvement.
  • Knowledge of the use of metrics to track quality and to implement improvements.
  • FAA DO-200B experience/knowledge a plus

 

Clearance\:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. 

 

Essential Functions

 

Physical Requirements\: 

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to\: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Work Environment\:

This position requires that you live within commuting distance of our Hudson, NH facility.  Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations\: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with coworkers, customer, and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions.

 

Criticality of Attendance\:

Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission
requirements.

 

Equipment and Machines\:

Standard office equipment and machines\: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

 

Travel Requirements\:

Work may require occasional travel.

 

Other Essential Functions\:

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and
written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer’s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
