Jacobs is seeking an On-Site Geotechnical Engineer. Project location with be at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota.
The On-Site Geotechnical Engineer will provide support to USACE on federal and commercial design-build projects.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, including test borings, rock coring, test pits, cone penetration testing, hand augers, and other methods.
Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, piles), and shallow foundations.
Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles.
Design of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures.
Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses.
Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and or FLAC.
Develop geotechnical reports
Perform Pavement Design and develop Pavement Reports.
Design Ground Improvement including deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, and chemical.
Develop contract documents including drawings and specifications.
Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable, and meet all assigned project deadlines.
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.

Here’s What You’ll Need
Bachelor's degree in related Engineering discipline is required.
5 years of experience on geotechnical projects.
Willingness and flexibility to travel for work.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Computer skills including CADD, and Microsoft Office.
A driver’s license and reliable vehicle will be required.
Engineer in Training (EIT) a plus.
US Citizenship.
