As a senior plant design/piping supervisor designer in the Jacobs CMS - Nuclear Projects and Consulting business unit you’ll Lead the creation, development and execution of Process P&IDs as well as Take full responsibility for specific task area as designer and Perform Checking review of deliverables. Additionally, you will Manage and track the progress of process deliverables and perform other duties as assigned.
Here’s what you’ll need:
· High School Diploma/GED
· Excellent knowledge of SPID with min 5 years SmartPlant® work experience
· Chemical process industrial mechanical/piping design experience
· Nuclear design experience
· Have a solid understanding of Process Industry Practice (PIP) Standards
· Excellent track record with good collaboration and communication skills.
· Ability to Create, Maintain and Produce line lists, valve lists, and related process lists from SPID.
· Technical knowledge of core tools to enable independent working.
· Ability to manage and maintain a project schedule and budget.
· Ability to create custom symbol toolbar for Equipment, Piping and Instrumentation.
· Ability to use of snap to grid for proper alignment and composition of pid drawing.
· Ability to Use of display sets and filters for selecting and modifying items.
· Knowledge of common spacing principle for elements in the drawing
· Knowledge of commands required to input smart data
· General Drafting knowledge of good practice for pid drawings.
· AutoCad/MicroStation working knowledge.
In addition to the Basic Qualifications the ideal candidate might also have:
· Nuclear design experience
· 10 or more years of experience preferred.
· Trade School or Associates Degree
· Strong communication skills.
· Exhibit integrity and the highest quality in all activities
· Self-motivated, team-focused professional
· Self-starter who can manage and self-direct work
· Previous nuclear and chemical piping design experience
Essential Functions
Work Environment
Office environment. (95%)
Telework is not an option for this role, all work performed from secure office environment.
May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities.
Physical Requirements:
Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.
Must be able to move and sit for extended periods (100%) as well as and lift up to 35 lbs (25%). Vision correctable to 20/20. Candidate must have the ability to read and use SmartPlant design software unassisted.
Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment - PC, telephone, fax, copier, job related software (SmartPlant design) and other related equipment (90%)
Attendance:
Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (as needed)
Travel required (<10%)
OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Must be familiar with and comfortable working in a team environment. Appropriate grooming and dress code acceptable for a customer environment is necessary. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.
