These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
We are seeking an experienced Software Project Manager with a robust Information Technology (IT) and Software Development background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have successfully managed large-scale projects and possess a proven track record of delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. The candidate should be familiar with and understand the product lifecycle phases from initiation through delivery. This project manager supports the Command-and-Control Project Management Office. The Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination of work within the Command-and-Control Directorate.

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in computer or system science, information technology, engineering, or related discipline, and at least four (4) years of project management experience. Additional relevant education or advanced degree may be substituted for a portion of the experience.

Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Perform the essential duties of leading and managing the software development projects from inception to completion by providing oversight and assist in managing all aspects of a project to include budget forecasting and work estimation.
- Utilize Project Management skills and experience in the management of Project Performance, Scope, Schedule, Budget, Risks, and Change Management.
- Perform change assessments, change board approval, modification management, software sustaining engineering and project leadership for changes to a wide variety of software and hardware systems.
- Assume responsibility of establishing new project teams in support of COMET-identified requirements focusing on ensuring project management standardization and resourcing across the Command & Control Project Portfolio.
- Demonstrate understanding of project scheduling development and resource loading to capture all work performed in executing the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary.
- Actively address risk management, primarily focusing on assisting with the identification, assessment, and proactive risk mitigation measures for the projects.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
- Assist with the preparation of Project artifacts to include, but not limited to, project planning artifacts, project status reports, project briefs, etc.
- Schedule, facilitate and document Project Team meetings.
- Exercise extensive participation in management planning; continuously demonstrates effort to improve overall operations; restructures immediate and long-range goals, objectives, and plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Experience in Project Management principles, CMMI, VersionOne, and software change management process development highly desired.
- Experience in hardware/software development, systems engineering and project management in an Aerospace environment highly desirable.
- PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certifications are desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment is required.
- Must be able to coordinate work between multiple project disciplines.
- Requires demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior experience.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, while meeting or exceeding schedule expectations as well as maintaining superior product delivery.
- Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as necessary.
- Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and MS Power Point.
- Familiarization with Power Bi is advantageous.
- If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
- Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting.
- Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and other associated personal protective equipment.
- Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
- Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.
- Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
- Position may require individual to travel daily to different areas on site.
- Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, is required to access various locations on the facility.
- Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
- All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.

- Position may require occasional overtime, including weekend work, depending on task.
