Your Impact:
As a Structural Design Technician based within our the Greater Pittsburgh, PA area, you’ll work on a variety of projects ranging from FEL studies to plant modifications to new greenfield facilities. You’ll be a key asset in collaborating with diverse teams of structural engineers and designers both domestic and international and liaise with other internal professionals and disciplines for project delivery. Specific responsibilities include coordination with our project teams, creating 2D and 3D computer models of the engineered design, providing material take-offs for estimating, preparation of construction packages, assisting with estimates and schedules. Most days, you’ll design elements include mill buildings, crane runways, equipment platforms, mill building foundations, equipment foundations, and piling. Our primary focus in the Pittsburgh office is with the metals industry, however you will have opportunities to workshare with other business groups for a breadth of client and project experience. You’ll be a great resource on our team by demonstrating your passion, expertise and a desire to be mentored by our highly technical team of structural engineers.

Here’s What You’ll Need:• Technical school with CAD and structural drafting/design focus
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in drafting/design of steel and reinforced concrete
• Excellent conceptual and design process skills and fluency in 3D modeling
• Advanced working knowledge of AutoDesk Revit 3D, BIM 360, and AutoCad.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite software including MS Teams for remote coordination
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Associate Degree in Engineering Design Technologies Proficiency in following CAD software: Microstation or Smart Plant 3D
• 4-10 years of demonstrated experience in drafting/design of steel and reinforced concrete
• Extensive experience in drafting/design of steel and reinforced concrete
• Thorough planning and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively communicate across multiple teams
• Experience in the metals industry is a plus
