Inside Salesperson – Fire Training Products
Serving the Fire Service Industry
Local Kansas City general contractor seeking an Inside Sales Person to work with customers to provide
quotes on company products requested either by phone or email. This position will also evolve into cost
estimating and generating budgetary estimates on new builds.
Summary: The Inside Salesperson’s primary duty is to grow the company by achieving sales and
profitability objectives for new projects and clientele through providing quotes, working leads, generating
proposals, and project award. The Inside Salesperson will accomplish this under general direction of the
National Sales Manager.
Principle Sales responsibilities Include:
Answer phones, assess the customer needs and submit quotes/proposals.
Assist inside and outside sales representatives with quotes/proposals.
Support all aspects of subcontractor and supplier estimating and bidding processes.
Process RFP, RFQ, and internal pricing requests
Assist in drafting, proofing, auditing, and delivering both private and public proposals.
Working with Project Executives, Marketing, and Accounting staff coordinating contributions from all
into Proposals.
Develop, prepare, coordinate, and execute presentations and proposals to existing or new clients.
Operate and maintain proficiency in all internal estimating systems, technologies, and software.
Principle NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT responsibilities
Identify, retrieve, comprehend and administer RFQ and RFP solicitations.
Works with other key personnel on business development leads and strategies.
Build and manage long term relationships with clients and partners.
Secondary duty assist in qualifying project leads from multiple sources, including: web-based
postings, public agency opportunities, printed publications, contacts, etc. and route projects of
opportunity to project executive staff.
Assist in presentation of relevant bidding and award information to project management staff
necessary for start-up and seamless transition from estimating to field operations, through document
transfer and formal discussion.
Promptly reports changes (discoveries) in scope and revenue to senior management.

Training / Employee Development Responsibilities:
Continuing Education to expand knowledge base, currency regarding sale and estimating
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associates at a minimum
Working Conditions:
Airline and automobile travel required
Work in an office and field environment
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to sustain posture in a seated position for prolong periods of time
Must be able to verbally communicate via phone and in-person
Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines
Reports to: National Sales Manager
Experience: General Construction Sales: 5 years preferred
Experience in police, fire, military or other emergency service industries is a plus.
Education: High School or equivalent (required), Bachelor or Associates degree preferred

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
