Substance Abuse Technician

Job Summary: A substance abuse technician, plays a crucial role in the support and care of individuals undergoing treatment for substance abuse or behavioral health issues. • Patient Monitoring and Support:
• Monitor patients' behavior and activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their treatment process.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, meals, and medication reminders.
• Observe and document patients' progress, behaviors, and any concerns for the treatment team.
• Crisis Intervention:
• Respond to crises or emergencies within the treatment center, following established protocols for managing such situations.
• De-escalate tense situations and provide support to individuals experiencing emotional distress or agitation.
• Group Facilitation:
• Assist with facilitating group therapy sessions or support groups, under the supervision of licensed therapists or counselors.
• Encourage participation and maintain a supportive atmosphere within the group setting.
• Safety and Security:
• Enforce safety and security protocols within the treatment center to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Conduct regular checks of the facility to ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
• Administrative Tasks:
• Complete paperwork and documentation related to patient intake, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Assist with scheduling appointments, coordinating transportation, and managing patient records.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaboration with Treatment Team:
• Communicate effectively with other members of the treatment team, including therapists, counselors, nurses, and medical professionals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
