The TotalBoat brand was established in Bristol, Rhode Island in 2012 as a line of marine-grade products for boaters. It has since grown to include a full range of adhesives and coatings for makers of all kinds! We are looking for creative, innovative people that are passionate about the future of making!

TotalBoat is a family-run business that is owned and operated by Jamestown Distributors, which has been a leader in the marine and building supplies industry for over 30 years.

About the Role:

The Manager of Human Resources will oversee several critical functions that support the continued success of TotalBoat, including hiring, talent management and training, culture & DEIA initiatives, payroll & benefits. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to influence change, build company culture, and deliver results. 

What you’ll do:

• Manage ongoing HR business needs including payroll, benefits, retirement plan enrolment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Identify & implement programs that attracts & retains top talent 
• Meet critical deadlines & quickly fill open positions 
• Manage company wide communication & updates effectively 
• Lead the charge of moving the company forward by implementing HR practices, systems and tools where they currently don’t exist 
• Identify & conduct training for all levels of the business (office & warehouse)
• Manage resources and budgets to maximize investment
• Engage the entire organization to foster a high-performing culture where team members feel engaged, motivated, and appreciated.

Requirements

What you’ll bring:

· 4 years of experience with demonstrated knowledge of all HR functions

.·    Experience within a growing organization preferred.

 ·    Demonstrated ability to coach and counsel employees.

·     Knowledge of best-in-class industry standards for human resource recruitment and selection, staffing, performance      management, compensation, benefits management, compliance, payroll, and reporting.

 · Best practices from corporate organizations, & experience working with privately held businesses preferred. 

· Undergraduate degree required, with HR certifications preferred.· Passion for making, boating or DIY is encouraged.
