What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Operations Analyst position at Jamf?
Reporting to the leader of Engineering Operations, the Engineering Operations Analyst will have a key role in supporting data-driven product decision-making practices, roadmap execution in an Agile development environment and implementation of best practices. As part of the Engineering Operations team, the Engineering Operations Analyst will assist with bringing a product from concept through to high-quality delivery. This work will contribute to Jamf’s ability to drive product differentiation and market penetration, aligning with overall company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing analytical insights based on customer feedback, market data, indicators, trends, and behaviors.
- Working closely with product development and delivery teams to analyze and validate initiatives put forth and completed in the roadmap.
- Assisting in the definition of functional, non-functional, and solution-specific market requirements.
- Facilitating and documenting governance processes and best practices within delivery tools and technologies.
- Gathering and creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts and translating this information into requirements.
- Reviewing request and bug tickets for impact and prioritization.
- Assisting agile teams with writing user stories and acceptance criteria for necessary features, or enhancements.
- Supporting the Engineering Manager and delivery teams in capacity, planning and refinement activities.
- Monitoring and evaluating product roadmap execution, including supporting the upkeep of key dashboards that measure top level product and engineering metrics.
- Identifying opportunities for improvements to product planning, PD&D lifecycle, processes flow and work cycles.
- Suggesting action items and next steps to guide strategic decision-making.
- Assisting with the preparation and/or delivery of presentations to share insights with internal stakeholders, including roadmaps.
- Assisting with internal stakeholders and delivery teams in rolling out PD&D lifecycle and best practices.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to deliver a quality product experience and provide data to continuously optimize and inform the quality of our software.
- Assisting engineering by defining best practices of engineering tools including Jira.
- Creating and generating reports from development and delivery tools.
- Maintaining a knowledge of Jamf products, related technologies, and 3rd party integration strategies.
- Maintaining a knowledge of the Jamf organization, integration points and supportive processes with engineering organization.
- Supporting an organizational culture that fosters quality, collaboration, high morale and productivity.
Requirements
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
- 1 years of Engineering Analyst experience or equivalent (Preferred)
- A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
- Ability to conduct customer and market research to inform product decisions.
- Analytic thinker who can synthesize complex data into insights and plans of action.
- Driven by analytics and metrics, the ability to leverage data to recommend product enhancement ideas that fuel market dominance.
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various stakeholders who may have competing interests, earning trust and influence to deliver results.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development, writing use cases, user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
