The following job description identifies the qualifications and standards for Pharmacy Couriers. Pharmacy Couriers will meet the following requirements and competencies listed below. This position description provides a general overview of the type of work performed by employees within this classification. Depending on the facility, job duties may vary. Pharmacy Couriers report directly to the Pharmacist in Charge. I. II. Job Summary: The Pharmacy Courier or Delivery Driver position is an essential role that impacts the lives of an underserved population. This position is a liaison between clients and a Janus RX pharmacy. Primary responsibilities include:
❖ Delivering medications to clients on specific routes.
❖ Reviewing delivery orders prior to departure.
❖ Loading and unloading company vehicles.
❖ Providing excellent customer service to the clients of Janus RX Pharmacy. A key function will be ensuring that Janus RX clients receive their medication(s) and are pleased with the delivery service that we provide.
I. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Job Duties:
❖ Build strong relationships with various Janus RX partners, consumers, and pharmacy team members.
❖ Conduct inspection of vehicle before departing to deliver medication and maintaining vehicle by cleaning inside and out, fueling, and monitoring for routine maintenance needs such as oil changes, tire replacement, etc.
❖ Deliver medications to clients on assigned routes and create a delivery route utilizing basic internet applications and GPS functions per designated route sequence that ensures timely delivery of medications.
❖ Pack and load vehicle according to Janus RX specifications; unload goods according to client specifications.
❖ Complete deliveries with accuracy, care, and timeliness.
❖ Transport and deliver medication to patients in a safe manner to prevent damage, spoilage, and loss.
❖ Be able and willing to drive under winter and storm conditions.
❖ Ensure patient confidentiality.
❖ Acquire confirmation signature and any necessary identification needed for the medications to be delivered.
❖ Collect payments from clients at time of delivery, where applicable.
❖ Print and maintain any necessary documentation needed for deliveries including manifests, signature logs, and mileage logs.
❖ Maintain ongoing communication with the pharmacy staff.

3. Regulatory Requirements:
❖ Abide by state and local driving laws.
❖ Abide by and uphold the privacy rule standards of HIPAA.
4. Minimum Employment Requirements:
❖ High school diploma or GED.
❖ Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
5. Preferred Qualifications:
❖ Minimum one (1) year experience as a delivery driver.
6. Language Skills:
❖ Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
7. Skills:
❖ Positive and professional attitude.
❖ Strong customer service skills.
8. Physical Demands:
❖ General computer knowledge: email, web forms, iPad/iPhone.
❖ Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds, moving, lifting, or carrying boxes.

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
