Are you experienced in Estimating and looking for an autonomous role with a small Heavy Civil General Contractor that will offer you dedicated training and unparalleled career progression as the business grows?

Are you looking to be a key critical figure within an expanding business that will see you rewarded financially for the projects you win and ultimately leading a department?

Working closely with the President and Owner of JARCCO Construction, the Estimator role is critical to the company's continued growth and will see you leading the Estimating / Preconstruction department focusing on bidding Heavy Civil projects throughout the Front Range of Colorado.

About JARCCO Construction - Who We Are

We are a small Road and Heavy Civil contractor based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At JARCCO we focus on delivering high quality projects and completing them on time with safety as our main priority.

We believe professionalism, honesty, integrity, and constant communication are key factors in providing successful projects.

We work with both Private and Public clients such as the Federal Government including the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the International Boundary of Water Commission (IBWC), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and US Department of Homeland Security and US Veteran Affairs (VA).

After many years within the construction industry, and more importantly after seeing how clients struggle to find competent and responsive contractors, our Owner decided to start a construction company to help clients receive a better product, a professional service, a responsive contractor, and a team that understands the needs of the client.

This Role would suit the following individual :

  • An experienced Heavy Civil Estimator who no longer wants to be a number on a screen in a large company and is looking for an autonomous role with a smaller General Contractor that will genuinely invest in their career as well as offer immense opportunity for career progression.
  • A Construction Professional with at least a couple of years’ experience in Estimating who wants to work directly with the Owner of a General Contractor and build out an Estimating team behind you long term.
  • An experienced Estimator at a Heavy Civil / Horizontal Construction subcontractor who wants to join a General Contractor and continue growing their career.
  • An Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer with some Estimating experience who is looking for a career within Estimating / Preconstruction.

Experience, Skills & Background

The right individual will :

Training & Progression

  • Onboarding Training Checklist
  • Systems Training including dedicated software training on Procore and Bluebeam
  • Bespoke Training & Development
  • Opportunity to grow into a Chief Estimator / Executive within the business long term and build an Estimating / Preconstruction team around you

The right individual :

  • Should foster an integrated working environment, focusing on enhancing team output.

  • Should focus on getting the job done as it should be done and seek well-defined, formal parameters for themselves and their staff, ensuring that proper procedures are understood and followed.
  • Should take the view that they and their team will perform better when given the opportunity to plan ahead, but they should be able to recognize and express the need for a speedy solution when necessary.

Decision Making & Problem Solving

The right individual :

  • Should be generally conservative and, to minimize risks, proceed carefully when making decisions.
  • Should see themselves as problem solvers who rely on facts, logical thinking, and impartial analysis.
  • Will show a strong respect for company conventions and established precedents when making decisions.

  • Should take care to ensure that timeframes are reasonable before endorsing change.
  • Should scrutinize the need for change with a critical eye, presenting their findings to management and their team in an objective, fact-based format.
