BUYER
In this position, you will be responsible for the activities in the purchasing department as they relate to vendor selection, vendor quality, and delivery assurance. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with identifying and reviewing the quality, price, lead-time, and inventory management. You will be responsible for the purchasing activities for several domestic locations of the company.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-year degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related.
- 3 years of relevant experience
SCOPE:
- Drive supply chain initiatives and strategic projects.
- Conduct on-site production facility audits and quarterly performance reviews with vendors to support exceptional supplier management.
- Responsible for purchasing required parts and materials for production for multiple locations. Ensure on-time delivery, quality, price, and supplier support. Identify, quote, and award bid packages based on Total Cost of Ownership.
- Serve as subject matter expert on purchasing activities, leading strategic source selection and approval process, while continuously monitoring supply base for new opportunities.
- Maintain industry knowledge as it related to market trends on pricing, new technical innovations.
- Review and analyze quality metrics to implement appropriate corrective actions with suppliers.
- Serve as champion of lean initiatives through the use of accurate inventory analysis, material acquisition and delivery management.
