Accountant

Accountant Job Responsibilities:

Accountant maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.

Accountant/Bookkeeper Job Duties:

• Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
• Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
• Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
• Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
• Maintains historical records by filing documents.
• Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Processing payroll and maintaining entitlements and employee records
• Record keeping
• Maintain account system for annual tax filing
• Perform Accounts Payable and Accounting Receivable duties
• Process payroll and sales taxes
• Process credit card payments
• Provide customer payoff
• Obtain waivers for payments issued
• Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
• Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
• Calculate costs of materials, overhead and other expenses, based on estimates, quotations and price lists.
• Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
• Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
• Complete and submit tax forms and returns, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
• Reconcile records of bank transactions.
• Any job duties as office deems necessary

Developing Standards, Analyzing Information, Dealing with Complexity, Reporting Research Results, Data Entry Skills, Accounting, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, Must be proficient in Sage 50 Accounting, Bookkeeping experience required, Work Independently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
