About the Position

The Shipper & Receiver’s primary responsibility is to manage the daily receipts and shipments for the facility. It includes packaging and labeling of all outgoing material as well as a transfer of inventory for all incoming products. This role is required to be familiar with proper lifting techniques associated with moving and handling of material. Additionally, this individual will utilize the shipping systems to facilitate transactions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Observe and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policies, including wearing required PPE.
• Complete an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule.
• Operate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.
• Print daily sales receipts and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs for domestic and international shipments.
• Check received goods against purchase orders or receiving papers - quantity, type, size, part numbers, and dimensions.
• Route or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing locations.
• Maintain records and prepare receiving and shipping reports.
• Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped.
• Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping.
• Process orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• 
  High school diploma/GED preferred
• 1 years’ experience in retail or e-commerce
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Solid basic math skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
• Ability to be trained/certified on powered industrial truck (P.I.T.)
• May use banding or shrink wrap machines
• Understand stock locater system
• Comfortable using a computer, familiar with Outlook and internet
