As an Estimator with Jasper Engineering, your mission is to contribute to the overall success, efficiency, and effectiveness of our Shop department. You will be expected to create equipment cost estimates for teardown, evaluation and rebuild purposes. Additionally, you will be asked to set the shops' "job" priority, while managing customer and vendor expectations and deadlines. To close the loop, you will also need to review the job metrics for accuracy, performance, and billing purposes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Equipment Cost Estimation: Review mechanic notes and estimates, develop a plan of attack for equipment repair along with associated costs including purchased materials and billable hours, work with Shop team to capture job actuals for comparisons to estimates and adjust job notes accordingly, and complete job close-out checklist and billing activities
• Bill of Materials: Create equipment BOMs in ERP system for improved accuracy and repeatability
• Job Priority: Work with Sales and Applications teams to determine which jobs need to take priority week-to-week, manage overall flow of work into and out of Shop, and manage 3rd-party supplier relationships ensuring delivery dates and cost estimates are adhered to
• Troubleshooting: Assist the team with mechanical repair troubleshooting on an as-needed basis
• Production Logging: Document new entries and update current entries as jobs move through the shop
• Order Expediting: Follow up with vendor orders to ensure timely delivery and take necessary steps to improve delivery, when needed
• Statistical Tracking: Track various performance metrics of the shop and various components of the repair process with an eye on continuous improvement

Requirements / Experience:

• Previous experience in an estimating role preferred
• Previous experience in a custom job shop preferred
• Proficiency in mathematics and data analysis
• High attention to detail
