JOB TITLE: CCMR Counselor
REPORTS TO: Campus Principal
DEPARTMENT/Campus: Jasper High School
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Promote, track, and monitor College, Career, and Military Readiness
Qualifications/Experience
Master’s Degree in School Counseling
Two or more years of school counseling experience, preferably at the HS level
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
Ability to promote a positive, caring climate
Process all levels of work on assignments from beginning to end
Effective and efficient decision-making skills
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments
Competence with the use of technology required in a professional office
Knowledge of school district organization and operations
Knowledge of HB3 and HB5
Knowledge of the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model; Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs; Career and Technical Education Programs; State of Texas graduation plans; PK-12 guidance and curriculum; credit accrual in high school; community agency resources and referral process
Major Responsibilities And Duties
Develop and manage the HS GO Center
Assist students with researching colleges, completing ApplyTexas or other college applications
Assist students with FASFA/TASFA applications
Send transcripts, SAT & ACT test scores to colleges
Manage budgets and coordinate testing for TSI, PSAT, SAT, and ACT
Work as liaison between students and military
Assist students and families with general questions about post-high school
Collect CCMR Data and track in Skyward
Research, track, monitor, and disseminate scholarship opportunities
Track military and maintain documentation updates in Skyward and OnData Suite student tracker
Plan and coordinate college field trips
Host FAFSA Nights (2 per year)
Maintain Social Media and post regularly
Register students for ASVAB, order materials, and set up test day, and manage testing.
Plan College Day
Provide Classroom CCMR Guidance
Meet with all Seniors 3 times per year (beginning, middle, and end)
Coordinate Campus AVID Committee and Certification
Work as RSSI Grant liaison and coordinate activities as indicated in the grant
Manage TSIA Units, register, print vouchers, and administer TSIA2 test - 2 times a month
Host Lunch & Learns to inform parents and families on CCMR
Lead the district with CCMR statistics (applications, FAFSA, and CCMR totals)
Host SAT & ACT Saturday Testing Coordinator
Other duties as assigned
