General Summary of the Position
To oversee the completion of all planned QC activities for site and prepare & compile the needed QC documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):
- Generate and or maintain all documents related to inspections and testing
- Verify dimensional accuracy of concrete placement
- Coordinate NDE and maintain weld / heat number maps
- Perform visual inspections on B31.3 piping welds
- Inspects mechanical piping installations for compliance to applicable Codes, standards and specifications
- Oversees Welder Performance Qualification Testing
- Works closely with the Site Superintendent to ensure quality is being maintained and inspections are kept commensurate with production.
- Identifies and reports Nonconformances as well as verifies the implementation of corrective actions
- Reports any concerns or issues to the QA Manager.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to exercise good judgment when carrying out duties and to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, clients, vendors and subcontractors.
- Ability to see details at a close range.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Advanced mechanical skills a plus.
- Current AWS CWI desirable but not required with adequate experience
Education, Training and Experience:
- Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Context:
- Based in the field but may travel from time to time to assist other locations.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
- Must be able to work in elevated areas.
- Noise level is generally loud.
