Part -Time Compost Collector/ Driver

JAVA’S COMPOST is a mission driven family owned business helping people save the planet one banana peel at a time through composting their food scraps.

We’re looking for a committed, responsible, friendly person to join our team as a part- time driver.

Part Time Driver/Compost Collector- Morning (7am-1pm) and afternoon (1-7pm) shifts. Routes are typically 4- 8 hrs.

Days Available: Weekdays

Ability to substitute for other drivers as needed is appreciated but not required.

We’re looking for an experienced driver (must have had license for 4 or more years and clean driving record) to conduct our food scraps pickup route. Duties include, but not limited to:

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

- Prepping truck for pickups with cleaning supplies; buckets; bins; liners; promotional material

- Conducting entire pickup route in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. This includes managing and transporting food scraps; thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing buckets

- Ability to use and operate Smartphone to follow routing software

- Cleaning and disinfecting truck after each route

- Help bag and distribute finished compost

- Occasional trips to the compost processing facility may be necessary

- Ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions necessary

- Ability to earn additional hours doing other tasks if desired

- Clean driving record required

- Experience driving larger vehicles

- Friendly, team player attitude needed

This job is labor intensive and can be messy but is rewarding as you get to be a part of the food scraps recycling process. And, you get to enjoy the great outdoors!

Interest in composting, sustainability, soil health appreciated but not mandatory.

Pay is $18.00 per hour.
