We are looking for a Territory Sales Representative to join our sales team. You will represent Jax & Bones brands, to wholesale retailers and distribution partners. This is a high visibility role working with lifestyle, pet, gift stores and other sales channels.
As a Territory Sales Manager, you will build partnerships with retailers and distributors by understanding and supporting their businesses and inspiring them, as well as to uphold Jax & Bones reputation to maintain a long term relationship.
Job Role:
- Establish and maintain productive relationships, partnering with retail accounts while advocating our vision, purpose, and values.
- Grow existing and new territory coverage by calling, emailing and connecting with wholesale retail customers within territory.
- Promote a fast-moving brand’s awareness, increase sales, and boost customer engagement.
- Deliver inspired education and training to distributor sales team, retail partners, and consumers.
- Conduct a review in the store in terms of product pricing and distribution.
- Implement Jax and Bones merchandising and branding standards.
- Work industry trade shows and support training to clients.
- Ride-a-long with Distributor Sales Representatives.
- Communicate field activity to the Indie Pet Channel Manager through daily and weekly reporting, working together on scheduling, prioritizing, and territory planning.
- Develop market knowledge with awareness of competitor’s offerings from both the consumer and retailer point of view.
- Perform all administrative functions associated with direct account and retail store management within established deadlines.
- Promote all product lines
- Grow business by using innovative sales and marketing concepts to achieve assigned goals in all key measures
- Call on existing and potential clients to create targeted, brand-building sales and marketing programs to drive volume and hit quantitative and qualitative sales goals
- Develop and implement strategic business plans within assigned geography
- Create a positive experience by providing top-tier customer service to clients through a consultative selling approach
- Work cross-functionally with regional teams, distributor channel, and counterparts within territory.
- Influence with integrity by identifying each retailer’s business needs, and then leveraging consumer insights and trends to support your recommendations
- Develop and foster business relationships with key decision makers to understand their needs for long term partnership
Qualifications:
- Outside sales experience ideally within the pet specialty industry, consumer merchandising and packaged goods/retail experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Must be able to handle, manage and overcome objections encountered within the sales process.
- Teamwork focused in a remote work environment with a bias for action.
- Proven experience using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with a CRM program.
- Experience presenting to large and small groups.
- Flexibility to travel locally
- Occasionally, be able to lift and/or carry up to 40lbs.
- A self-starter adept at understanding the myriad opportunities in the business and effectively prioritizing those opportunities based on the needs of the business.
- Excellent verbal and written communications ability.
- Proven success in developing individuals and teams to drive results.
Specific Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and demonstrated success in a sales role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience selling to and managing multi-store chain accounts with a progression in sales accountability and scope.
- Must be able to travel as dictated by corporate needs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance coverage.
- Willing to work overtime and some weekends as requested by management.
- Assist other personnel in accomplishing tasks from time to time.
