Work at the Beach - Summer of 2024 - Great Opportunity! Corporate Housing Included

We are seeking honest, hard-working, polite, and cheerful individuals with leadership skills who are interested in working at the Delaware seashore for the upcoming summer of 2024. Our company operates food and beverage concessions at State parks/beaches in Delaware and we currently have three positions to fill. We have been in business for the past 37 years, operating at many of the nation's largest public gathering parks, beaches, and facilities.

This job is working in a supervisory capacity in a beach concession operation. We will teach and train you on everything you need to know, and expect that you would be able to work independently. Our ideal candidate is 18-21 years old with reliable transportation. , and expect that you will work a minimum of 40 hours per week during the summer season. Our starting pay is $17/hour, plus tips. During the summer of 2023, our staff averaged over $3/hour in tips during the course of the season. Tips can vary greatly from day to day, and they are typically a function of your hard work, friendly customer service, and good weather. All of our work shifts are during the daytime, beginning around 9:30 AM or 10:30 AM and working through 5 PM or 6 PM. You will have at least one day off per week, and you are provided one complimentary meal item and one beverage per shift. All other meals would be your responsibility.

The time period of this job is mid-June (10th-13th) through Labor Day (September 2), 2024. If you are a college student, we are asking that you make arrangements with your school to take your first week or two of your fall semester classes online, because it's important that you work through Labor Day weekend with us. You may arrive earlier than mid-June (before Memorial Day weekend) if you want. If you do arrive early, we would have weekend work only available until June 15th. After June 15th, we are open every day, and at that point we have 40 hours per week available to work for you. We are a little flexible for requested-time-off, so if you have a pre-scheduled family vacation, or other important event that you must attend, we will do our best to accommodate these arrangements. The place where you would be living is a part of a family home, and although you are free to come and go as needed, any alcohol or illegal drug possession or use would be strictly forbidden and would be cause for your immediate termination from our employment and permission to stay in our house.

We are purposely advertising these positions to Ohio residents because we want to recruit team members from outside the mid-Atlantic region who would be interested in working at the beach for the summer. It's not a too-terribly-long-drive from Ohio to the Delaware seashore, and since your state does not border an ocean, it would be a fun opportunity that isn't normally available to someone from Ohio. We would pay you a travel stipend for your trip to the beach at the beginning of the season and another stipend for your trip home at the end of the summer. The amount of this stipend would depend on your departure address.

SUMMARY: We are offering a competitively paying job at the beach for the summer, which includes a free place to stay. There are many jobs available at the beach during the summer, however very few offer a complimentary place to live. We operate several concession operations at DE State beaches, and these locations are each a short drive from our summer house. The reliable transportation we require as a part of this position is for your drive to-and-from work every day. Each of our work locations are between a three and ten mile drive from our house.
