Sourcing Specialist for Electronics Manufacturing (must speak Mandarin)
Summary
Source components and products based on various factors-- including quality, price, and vendor relationship-- which meet the demand of projects or customer requests.
Full-Time: Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (in-office) & 10:00 pm to 1:00 am (overnight, remote from home to communicate with Chinese vendors). These times are approximate, but the schedule will require some splitting of your work schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sourcing
- Read the datasheet/ requirements/ project scope carefully before sourcing
- Request proof of certifications from potential vendors.
- Source the same item from at least three vendors.
- Check transaction records of the potential vendors to make sure they are dependable.
- Write instructions for vendors to ensure proper production
Skills
- Familiarity with engineering datasheet/ drawings
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently, to work both independently and in a team setting
- Ability to deal with significant amount of BOM and 2D/3D files
- Familiar with component suppliers like Digikey, Mouser, McMaster-Carr
- Familiar with online distributors both in the USA and China
- Proficiency of Google Products such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Calendar (equivalent to Microsoft’s Excel, Word, PPT, and Outlook)
Requirements
- Professional level speaking and writing skill in Mandarin
- Punctuality and great work ethic
- Familiarity in the Manufacturing and/or Electronics industries a plus
- Discipline for independent work from home
- Availability to work overnight from home between 9:30pm and 12:30am
Working Environment
Little physical activity in an office environment. Requires mostly sitting on a chair operating on a computer. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.
Relationships
- Reports to: Project Managers
- Works closely with: COO, CEO, Engineers, Purchasing Specialist
- Occasionally interacts with: Manufacturing personnel, Marketing
Performance Metrics
Position’s performance is based on:
- Ability to source the correct component/part/service on time with the best price.
- Ability to communicate with both MFG overseas and Jaycon team efficiently.
- Timeliness of delivery.
Visa Sponsorship
- This full-time position does qualify for OPT and H-1B Visa sponsorship if your degree is STEM-based.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
