What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at jaykay-medical-staffing?
Who You Are:
You are an actively licensed Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the following credentials:
- A current CPR/ BLS certification
- Active Food Handlers Safety Card
- Up-to-date TB Test
Position is for either day or night shift. You will work with our in-house scheduler to choose your dates of work, keeping in mind the following minimum requirements:
- One Friday shift per month
- Four weekend shifts per month
- Every other bank holiday or facility "special day"
While specific requirements may vary based on facility, our LPNs can expect to execute the following duties:
- Provide bedside care to patients including personal hygiene maintenance
- Record the patients’ vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate)
- Collect patient’s health information
- Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians
- Give oral medications and injections to patients (in permitted states)
- Test a patient’s blood sugar levels
- Urinary catheter insertion and care
- Wound care and dressing changes
- Assist patients with personal hygiene
- Monitor for changes in patients
- Proper charting, documentation, and maintenance of patient’s medical records
