Responsibilities
JBT Diversified Food & Health is a prime solutions and equipment provider within the fruit and vegetable industry segment. From preparation to preservation, conveying and packaging, our comprehensive range of technologies captures the freshness, taste, texture, appearance and nutritional value of fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Service Technician to join our team!
This position will work at a customer plant in Lakeland, FL and will have primary responsibility for all JBT equipment at that location, including our industrial citrus extractors and automation systems. This position may also manage or lead one or more service employees at that site.
A Typical Day for Field Service Technicians:
Mechanical Service Management
- Under direction of service management, manages and trains all processing service personnel assigned to customer site.
- Responsible for all performance and calibration of JBT’s machinery.
- Responsible for maintenance and calibration of JBT’s automation systems.
- Manages equipment overhaul so that performance will be to JBT and customer standards and completed within a timely schedule.
- Assist in field testing of new designs or equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining, ordering and expediting all parts and maintaining adequate inventory for JBT’s machinery.
- Responsible for maintaining, ordering and expediting all parts, tools and inventory at locations for service contracts for customer equipment.
Customer Satisfaction and Relations
- Works closely with all JBT departments to assure that we maintain good communication from the customer site to JBT.
- Have knowledge of customer’s machinery that is used in fruit processing included in a major service agreement; washers, graders, surge bins, sizers, belt and screw conveyors, finishers and cyclones.
- Attend customer meeting regarding operation of juice room and related equipment.
- Report all sales opportunities to FL Regional Sales Service Manager.
Planning and Administration
- Responsible for proper and timely submission of required reports to JBT and customer representatives for machinery and service contracts.
- Checks and monitors all time and expense reports weekly.
- Manages parts through a management system including collecting, storing and sending data to the processing service department in Lakeland.
- Meets the preventative maintenance target.
Safety
- Meet all monthly safety requirements as established by the HSE Department
- Attend all required site Safety Training sessions or complete and submit make-up materials to the Safety Department.
- Comply with all JBT safety policies and guidelines.
Qualifications

- Become part of customer's team
Even Better If You Have:
- Training in mechanical, electrical, computer and computer programming
- Experience with JBT equipment and customer machinery
- Ability to conduct training seminars for new personnel
- Has general knowledge of all types of instrumentation and how to calibrate
